Sandra Martin

Counselor

Sandra has had a variety of "unique" experiences that have helped shape who she is and how she walks alongside those that are hurting. Whatever the issue on the table, counseling is always about drawing close to the God who created you and becoming all that He designed you to be.

Sometimes counseling is about repairing a broken heart or healing a wounded soul. Sometimes it’s about getting un-stuck, un-blockaded, un-tired and un-confused and being able to see and take the best next step. Sometimes counseling is just about growing – growing in wisdom and understanding, maybe even stepping up to a new place in life, a new calling, a new relationship.
Sandra has a graduate degree in counseling from Dallas Baptist University and is credentialed by the Texas State Board as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor. She served eight years as pastor of a church plant in small community in which the culture was one of violence of every kind, including domestic; drug and alcohol addiction, and sexual promiscuity. She also traveled during eight consecutive summers to the Amazon Basin of Peru, where she taught pastors and worked in jungle and village ministry. Sandra spent 17 years working in pastoral counseling in the Dallas area, serving adults and couples both in individual and in group counseling. Her experience is in trauma, dissociative disorders, mood/personality disorders, depression, grief, critical incident stress debriefing, suicide and its impact; and addictions.
