Philip was trained for counseling by attending Dallas Baptist University and was licensed as a counselor in 2004.
In his professional career he has worked with clients in the public mental health system, the child welfare system, the Texas foster care, and adoption systems, the juvenile justice system, the adult probation/justice system, and with clients who sought help with their marital, family, and personal behavior health issues. He has been in private practice since 2005 and has carried various degrees of a counseling load up to the present. Currently, he is serving full time in the ministry and sees counseling clients a few days a week.
He has been married 28 years and has two grown sons. He enjoys playing guitar, riding a mountain bike, bow hunting, fly fishing, rock climbing, and international compassion trips. He enjoys integrating faith and spirituality into sessions and uses a combination of solution-focused, family systems, and cognitive behavior theories in his approach to helping clients overcome the past traumas and resulting conflicts that are showing up in daily situations.  He is not taking private insurance payments at this time.
